Nice Pic Bro a project to claim and follow in which we have been fortunate to collaborate

From Print Workers Barcelona we are very happy to have contributed our little bit in the NICE PIC BRO project of the photographer and social visual specialist Sara Lusini. And it is that turning the drama of refugees into innocuous everyday reality makes self-published projects like NICE PIC BRO more necessary than ever.

Conceived by Sara Lusini NICE PIC BRO also has the design created by her sister and also visual artist Stefania Lusini. She has handprinted in our WORKSHOP the dazzling covers of these special photo albums.

NICE PIC BRO, in a real work in progress, speaks to us one by one about the reality of the refugees who arrive daily at our Coasts but also from ourselves. And the use of social networks as a reflection of their aspirations and mirror of our own behavior.

As the mobile goes from being a tool of first necessity to communicate with your family during the tortuous trip to Europe to later become the smart phone that we all know as an essential tool in social networks. To show our day to day in the most attractive and empathetic way possible. Hiding the most miserable parts of our existence.

In the words of the artist herself Sara Lusini… “NICE PIC BRO was born as a storytelling and self-publishing workshop for asylum seekers immigrants. As a result of an elaborated self-telling path, we edited, printed and bound photo books.

We worked with a group of young people aged between 18 and 25 years, coming from countries of West-Africa (Nigeria, Gambia, Senegal, Guinea Bissau) and living in Italy at least since last year.”

Here we show you photos of both the process and final result as well as the part made in our WORKSHOP by Stefania Lusini with the power that only screenprinting inks can give enriching this project even more.

If you want to know more about this project, we invite you to follow it through the web of the artist.

Nice Pic Bro!
